Pet Sitters Promote Safety on Pet Theft Awareness Day
Pet parents urged to prepare on February 14
Valentine’s Day – a time set aside to recognize special human or furry companions – is marked by joy and celebration, but for the parents of lost or stolen pets, the day is filled with sadness over the absence of a furry friend. On February 14th, the National Association of Pet Sitters (NAPPS) is commemorating Pet Theft Awareness Day by educating pet parents on safety measures to help protect from pet theft, as well as steps to take if a pet is missing. PugFest VI: PugStock January 30, 2011
The annual Lee County PugFest, an event founded by Peepers Pet Watch owner Karen Sloan, takes place Sunday, Jan. 30 from 12-4 p.m. at Bell Tower Shops, Fort Myers. This year’s theme is PUGSTOCK! Groovy! Peepers Pet Watch will be there with a display and a drawing for a $50 gift certificate for Peepers Pet Watch services. PugStock is open to all dogs. Admission is free. Grande Cay Dog Show January 29
The Grande Cay Relay for Life team hosts the 5th annual “Just for Fun” Dog Show on Saturday, January 29, 2011. Location is Gulf Harbour, 15000 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. Registration starts at 10:00 a.m. and the event begins at 11:00 a.m. Registration fee is a personal choice – all money raised benefits the American Cancer Society. The event is open to the public. Oodles of fun contests are planned and Peepers Pet Watch is donating a gift certificate as a prize for one of the contests. Soft drinks and – you guessed it – hot dogs – will be served. This is gonna be fun! Get it in your calendar and be there!

Doggie Dash results
Last weekend’s Doggie Dash in Estero raised about $4,800 for Lee County Domestic Animal Services. Thanks to everyone who supported this fun event. Peepers Pet Watch donated a gift certificate to the Doggie Dash auction along with a pet bed, blanket, some toys and snacks.
